I can safely say I know nothing about this artist. The only info he supplies is his email address, on his blog, but it’s safe to say that his geometrically abstract animations are pretty damn sweet. Also, a page on Flickr. I highly recommend checking out his blog (where he has some other fine animations, along with drawings, and other work) at pandaclock.com.
All the animation are below the cut.

As an added bonus, you’ll find one of his truly mind blowing videos at the bottom of the page.

Some trippy work from Rodier Kiddman, an artist based in Argentina that specializes in creating incredibly complicated digital illustrations for concert posters, CD’s, and hoodies/tshirts. You can check out a more extensive showing of his work at his site or his DeviantArt page.

Jason Thielke is an artist based out of Colorado that is doing some very interesting work with the process of laser etching and wood. Thielke’s pieces are a narrative on both gentrification and urban decay and are heavily modeled on standard architectural processes from the conceptual phase (hand drawing them out) through to the final production involving laser etching wood and then lacquering it. If you’ve see those heavily modded out MacBookPro customized cases that have been floating around, this same process is used to create them. Thielke’s work is pretty fantastic, though. Personally, I think it’s very evocative of classic art nouveau…and that’s never a bad thing.

Jamie Roberts is an illustrator based in Manchester, UK. While he creates all kinds of fantastic illustrations (Superhero’s and the like), he’s created an entire series of little vector characters called Hex Heroes (they all in little hexagrams as you can probably see.) Even better: he posts them on his blog and lets people throw out names for them. He’s done 37 of them so far with no signs of slowing up!

If you’re in the Pittsburgh, PA area (I know most of you aren’t, but still!), there’s a fantastic exhibit running at the Toonseum from May 8th-July 18th that features, for the first time, the largest collection of art and stills from the anime classic, AKIRA to be on public display. You can find more information on the show here and here and an excellent interview with the collections’ owner/show curator here. You can also see many more of the cels from the show here. Enjoy!

Jed Dougherty has been creating art for about 15 years, with an emphasis on figurative work. He graduated in 1992 from the College of Creative Studies at UCSB with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art.
His paintings and sculptures are primarily depictions of women, concerned with creating images of female power, as expressed through physical mass and energy. There is a fantastic or surreal element to many of his paintings, reflecting his interest in mythology and odd juxtapositing. He maintains a small studio space in Thousand Oaks.
