I’ll be the first to admit … gold retainer’s on chains aren’t exactly for everyone; however, jewelry designer Kiel Mead has made it his career to bring fun bits like these to people who want them. Keil (pronounced like Kyle) is a young designer, originally from Western New York, who designs these fine pieces along with a limited, but growing, line of furniture. My personal faves are the retainer (he does one in gold and one in silver both on a chain), above, and the badass key rings. Literally…key rings. You get the point. He’s also done a line of belt buckles that are kinda rad as well. You can find his work through design forward retailers like NY based The Future Perfect and the MoMA Design Store and his belts are available through Steven Alan, ODIN, and Character.
This lamp produces 16,777,216 different colors of accent light. The lamp’s four LEDs (two red, one blue, and one green) generate 256 different hues, 256 levels of saturation, and 256 brightness settings. A color wheel on the wireless remote enables continuous, seamless scrolling through the color spectrum, and dual dimmer buttons provide smooth transitions between different levels of saturation and intensity of light. The light can also be set to automatically cycle through soft, muted tones and deep, bold shades of light. The lamp sits at a 45º angle so that it projects onto a wall.
